We love NPR Tiny Desk. Really. The intimate setting, the genuine emotions, the beautiful talent, all three make those sessions one of a kind.

We today publish Part II of our favorite Tiny Desk performances. Once you’ve had enough, head here for our first edition.

Aldous Harding

You can see the emotions in her eyes while she sings. Powerful, beautiful voice to go along with her energy. Aldous Harding released one of the most beautiful albums of 2019.

Khruangbin

Khruangbin is the most exciting instrumental band since Ratatat, although they sometimes sing. This Tiny Desk video encapsulates their laid-back vibe and musicianship.

Superorganism

The weirdest band on this list, and maybe on earth. They just don’t care and that’s why we love them. Superorganism was created with its members living on different continents, so it’ll be easy for them to adapt to quarantine and make more music.

Anderson .Paak & The Free Nationals

Who doesn’t like it when the singer is also the drummer? Anderson .Paak shows us the extent of his talent, and he is accompanied by a great band. Also, it’s beautiful to see him smile and be this happy to make music.

Koffee

The future of reggae, right here. At 20 years old, she is the first woman to win the Grammy for best reggae album. Koffee has the lyrics, flow and is just at the beginning of her career.

Rhye

The most romantic video of the lot. dozens of candles are lit for this intimate performance by Rhye. You would have thought that the singer was a woman…

Max Richter

This one is rather special for a Tiny Desk. A classical performance by Max Richter and his musicians. It is somber, but the kind of somber where you cry because of the beauty of the music. “I’m very interested in the idea of Music being a place to think”, Max says.

BADBADNOTGOOD

The Canadian band is really, really good. A fusion of jazz, soul and funk to make you chill or dance. BADBADNOTGOOD also take care of production for other musicians, including Daniel Caesar and Kaytranada.

Big Thief

Indie-Folk new favorite band did their Tiny Desk set after their first album, Masterpiece. Too bad they didn’t wait a bit more, as they released three more succesful LPs since then. Amazing performance marked by Adrianne Lenker’s voice.

Mashrou’ Leila

The most famous alternative band from Lebanon, Mashrou’ Leila. They perform ‘Maghawir’, ‘Kalaam’ and ‘Djin’. This performance happened under special circumstances. Just a day after the Orlando shooting in the US, which resonated a lot for them.
