I was about to romanticize the old Achrafieh stairs, how they marked an era and us.
But lovers don’t care about stairsteps. Never did we in a moment of intimacy stop to consider the steps, the color of the windowsill, the arched tree, the alleyway.. We just reminisce over them when steps are gone and only the bruises from the times we tripped over are left.
